At The Kusnacht Practice we are dedicated to combining clinical excellence with outstanding personal service. In order to support our clients in the best way possible throughout the treatment process and beyond, we remain connected with them after the intensive residential stage of their recovery is completed.
We tailor the Continuing Care Plan around the unique needs, personality profile and social context of our clients, helping them to successfully reintegrate into their original environment and to maintain the healthy coping strategies and lifestyle changes that were achieved during the residential stage of recovery.
In order to generate the best outcomes, the intensity and format of the programme as well as the resources involved can vary over time, according to the particular needs of the client and the medical recommendations.
The Continuing Care Programmes comprise of:
- Psychiatric Care and Monitoring
- Psychological Support
- Complementary Therapies
- Biomolecular Restauration
- Social Support
- Couple Counselling &Therapy
- Family Counselling &Therapy
Early recovery within the reintegration period is the most challenging stage of the journey towards a balanced and fulfilling life. At this point in time, is very important that our clients benefit from all the resources and support that would help them make the much needed changes and incorporate the newly learned healthy living habits into their daily routines.
A structured schedule should be followed and a team of professionals should assist the client throughout the week, ensuring that assistance is available and appropriate.
We strongly recommend that our clients continue to seek specialised psychotherapeutic support in order to address and successfully resolve the psychological disturbances related to past traumas and facilitate healthy psychological growth and development. Psychotherapy services are offered through The Kusnacht Practice practitioners or partner professionals.
Finding ways to feel good without the addictive behaviour is paramount in recovery. Many complementary therapies concentrate on boosting relaxation and reducing stress. These therapies can help to calm emotions, relieve anxiety, and increase your general sense of health and wellbeing. Complementary therapies allow those in recovery to take a more active role in their treatment and recovery in partnership with their therapist. Complementary therapies may also help people to feel more in control of their feelings and emotions.
Complementary therapies should be included in the daily routines, physical therapies that will assist the body in boosting the brain’s serotonin levels, thus elevating mood. An elevated mood also aids in boosting the belief in recovery, that is both desirable and sustainable.
The Kusnacht Practice has pioneered in the field of Biomolecular Restoration (Bio-R). It is an innovative medical treatment which corrects imbalances and deficiencies in our individual bodies and mind. It therefore significantly improves the physical health and emotional wellbeing. Bio-R helps the client to both maintain the gains of treatment and to continue positive growth and healing. In order to maximise the benefits of the BioR intervention, it is very important that clients are retested every six weeks to ensure that the supplements are appropriately adjusted to their changing needs.
Greater social support promotes recovery and prevents relapse. Positive relationships are associated with emotional stability and increased wellbeing. It is highly recommended that our clients join the support groups available in their area.
Continuity is a very important aspect of any successful intervention. It is recommendable that the clients return to Zürich for short term Continuing Care Programmes every 6 to 8 weeks, or as often as necessary. During their three to five day stays they will benefit from:
- Psychiatric Assessments
- BioR consultations
- BioR retesting & supplementation
- Complementary Therapies
To serve our clients as good as possible throughout the treatment process and beyond we remain in contact with them for at least two years, or as long as necessary. Our Recovery Concierge maintains contact twice a week and coordinates all the aftercare services that are offered through the Kusnacht Practice.
