A native of Dublin, Ireland, Aisling resides in the south of Spain. Aisling is a Counselling Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in addiction, from front line work right up to the Clinical Management level. She holds both an Honours Degree and Masters in Science in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College, Dublin.
Before joining The Kusnacht Practice in 2018, Aisling worked in other well-known addiction rehabilitation centres in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Ibiza and southern Spain. She is a highly skilled and dedicated therapist who adheres to the highest standards of ethics and care in her professional practice.
Aisling utilises both an integrative and person-centred approach in her work and believes that the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client is fundamental to positive change and healing taking place. She, therefore, holds the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and non-judgmental acceptance in all of her work. Aisling empowers her clients to understand the issues underlying their behaviour and feelings by utilising a psycho-educational approach to bring about effective and lasting change.
Aisling has travelled internationally to support many clients with substance dependence disorders and other co-occurring conditions as a therapist, sober companion and recovery coach. She has a warm, open and friendly disposition and feels privileged to accompany clients on their healing journey from illness and despair to recovery and health.
Aisling speaks English, Gaelic and is proficient in Spanish.
