Catherine is a Live-in Counsellor for The Kusnacht Practice. She is an experienced Certified Life Coach and Sober Coach, a Certified Recovery Specialist, Case Manager & Interventionist and full Member of the European Association of Recovery Specialists.
Catherine studied Psychology and Counselling at the University of British Columbia and train as a Psychotherapist in Canada specialising in Early Trauma and Family Systems Therapy at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney, Australia. Catherine’s passion lies in working with individuals and family members on repairing family dynamics ruptured through addiction and dysfunction.
As a Certified Mental Health Recovery Coach with Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries in Vancouver, Catherine developed and delivered mental health programs and aftercare support to individuals and their family members. As a lawyer and trained counsellor, understanding the unique problems that legal professionals face, Catherine was also fortunate to work for the British Columbia Lawyers Assistance Program. In this role, she provided support for members and their families dealing with personal issues including alcohol and drug dependence, stress and anxiety, depression and other issues.
Many years of mentoring, mediation and conflict resolution experience provides Catherine with a unique combination of skills to facilitate empathy, compassion and neutrality. Catherine is passionate about mental health recovery and has more than thirty years of personal and professional experience within the addiction and professional corporate environments. She has studied and worked closely with well-known psychiatrists, academic institutions and spiritual communities worldwide. She is also a well-travelled facilitator of programs and workshops in North America, Australia, Asia, and Europe.
