
Cecilia Juhlin
Senior Lead Psychotherapist
Cecilia Juhlin is a Senior Lead Psychotherapist responsible for planning and implementing tailored psychological interventions at The Kusnacht Practice. Cecilia`s therapeutic approach is a psychodynamic approach with integrated elements of cognitive behavioural therapy.
Research has found that psychodynamic therapy is useful for exploring and understanding emotions. Through gaining insight into emotional and early experiences the relation between past and present, and the ways in which the past tends to “live on” in the present. The focus is not on the past for its own sake, but rather on how the past sheds light on current psychological difficulties. This method enables people to recognise patterns that have contributed to dysfunction and then make changes more readily. Cecilia`s gently supports the client to find access to underlying emotions and to process the emotions that influences behaviours and thoughts and by that finding more constructive ways of self-acceptance and dealing with difficult interpersonal interactions yielding at a better life quality.
Cecilia holds a M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology and an Executive Master’s degree in Organisational Psychology from INSEAD, Singapore.
She completed her training to become a certified psychotherapist at an emergency intake psychiatric ward. Subsequently she worked as a psychotherapist at the psychotherapeutic outpatient ward of a Psychiatric University Hospital in Switzerland for many years. During her years as psychotherapist, she has treated adults and young adults with various mental health problems and diagnoses.
After many years working as a psychotherapist, Cecilia made a career shift and started to work for a global company within organisational development. During this chapter of her career, she held different roles within that organisation. Besides coaching/leadership development of senior leaders and teams, her responsibility was also to develop, launch and facilitate soft skill programs like, mental wellbeing, resilience, psychological safety to enhance team performance, both locally and globally. While she was living in Singapore, she was supporting expats facing intramarital challenges in the frame of expatriation.
Cecilia is of Swedish origin and has lived and worked in Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore and USA. She enjoys the multifaceted nuances of working in an international environment, with clients from all over the globe. She believes that the holistic treatment view of The Kusnacht Practice provides is an optimal opportunity to recover from mental health struggle.
Cecilia loves outdoor activities, culture and is a vivid reader and traveler. She is the mother of two sons.
