Lia is a highly skilled and dedicated licensed Integrative Counselling Psychologist with demonstrated success in providing care and implementing effective treatment plans for patients/clients. She is also an Eating Disorders Practitioner (NCFED) and a Mindfulness Professional Instructor (IMMA) and works with EMDR, trained in levels 1-4, currently undergoing accreditation.

Lia has worked in UK and Greek NHS, in psychiatric clinics and treatment centers in UK, Ireland, Greece, and Switzerland with diverse populations in one-to-one and group settings, utilizing the most appropriate therapeutic approach according to individual needs, mainly incorporating CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Person-Centered, Gestalt Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Areas of expertise include a range of presenting mental health issues including but not limited to: Anxiety disorders, Phobias, OCD, Depression, BDD, Bereavement, Trauma, PTSD, all forms of Addictions, Eating Disorders, Psychotic disorders, Relationship issues, Personal Development. She is a compassionate professional with expertise in effective communication, building client relationships and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Since 2000, prior to joining The Kusnacht Practice in 2013, she has gained her work experience in both the public and private sectors, including The Priory Hospital Roehampton, Mind UK, UK’s Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust, UK’s regional Bereavement centre, National Charity Anxiety UK, etc.

For the last 22 years, Lia has worked solely in her private practice as a psychologist providing psychological support to clients, supervision and consultation to psychology students and mental health professionals in Greece and internationally. Part of her role as a psychologist is working with individuals, adolescents and adults, as well as families, couples and groups in a range of settings as well as collaborating with other professionals in multidisciplinary teams.

Lia has the knowledge and skills to support a person to work through their experiences in a safe and effective way. Some of the responsibilities she faces are assessing clients' needs, abilities or behaviours using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of their behavior. Devising and monitoring appropriate treatment programmes, including therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues and counsel and support carers.

She offers warm, relational and non-judgmental support and encouragement to help clients explore, understand and resolve personal difficulties and face life challenges with greater resilience.

Lia is an accredited member of the Greek Psychological Society (SEPS), member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered as EuroPsy Psychologist (European Federation of Psychologist’s Association-EFPA),.

She adheres to the above code of ethics and as such continues to develop her skills, knowledge and practice by continuing professional and personal development, which ensures that she practices safely and maintains high standards in her professional life.
