Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr. med. Eszter Kenézlői, PhD is a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. She joined The Kusnacht Practice Medical Team to support children, teenagers, and their families in reconnecting—with themselves and with one another— and to discover the inner strengths that exist within individuals and family systems. Her aim is to support emotional resilience, personal growth, and healthy relationships.
Dr. Kenézlői completed her medical degree at Semmelweis University in Budapest. She has been board-certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 2010 and in Psychotherapy since 2013. For ten years, she worked at Vadaskert Children’s Hospital and Outpatient Clinic, where she co-created and led the Adventure Therapy Department for teenagers and their families. She has also supported young adults at Thalassa House, a leading psychotherapy and psychiatric rehabilitation institute in Budapest.
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kenézlői combines a range of therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, family therapy, and adventure therapy. She also brings insights from her personal experience in psychodynamic therapies.
Dr. Kenézlői has served as a senior supervisor within the Hungarian Association for Behavioural, Cognitive, and Schema Therapies. Her PhD focused on emotion regulation and impulsivity, and how these are linked to early life trauma. From 2022 to 2024, she led a research project comparing traditional and nature-based schema therapy methods.
In her personal life, she enjoys adventurous outdoor experiences with her husband and two children—moments that offer meaningful opportunities to grow both as individuals and as a family.
Dr. Kenézlői speaks Hungarian, English, and German fluently, and has conversational knowledge of French.
