Dr. Wolfram Gmeiner joined The Kusnacht Practice Medical Team as a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy in May 2024. Dr. Gmeiner is deeply committed to providing personalized care to each of his clients, recognizing and respecting their unique journeys. With over a decade of experience in several fields of psychiatry, including in-patient and out-patient settings, forensic, geriatric, and social psychiatry, he adeptly understands and addresses the needs of his clients.
At The Kusnacht Practice, he takes pride in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, accepted, and empowered. By working closely with each individual, he aims to develop tailored coping strategies that are specifically effective for them, leading to meaningful improvements in their lives.
His professional journey has been diverse, transitioning from a background in graphic design and anaesthesiological intensive care nursing to earning his medical doctorate in 2008 at the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg, Austria. He has held a specialization in psychiatry and psychotherapy since 2015 and currently leads his practice in Zurich as well. Having served in several esteemed clinics in Switzerland, he further honed his expertise during a tenure at Arud – Centre of Addiction Medicine in Zurich, where he served as a senior physician and addiction specialist. This extensive experience has provided him with unique insights into the nuanced challenges faced by individuals. Additionally, he obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Health Care Management in Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Clinical Psychology in 2022.
Dr. Gmeiner is deeply passionate about helping clients achieve their therapy goals and reach their full potential. He is known to be direct yet respectful and caring. His ultimate aim is to empower individuals to live self-determined lives and find balance across physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions.
In addition to his native German, Dr. Gmeiner is fluent in English and Norwegian.
